Does the engine turn over? Do you hear it engage for a split second then nothing? It could mean a dead or dying battery.
Not hearing anything at all when you turn the key could still be a dead or dying battery, but it may also be a failed starter motor, or wiring running to it.
Can you hear the starter motor cranking away as you keep the key turned to start it, but the engine never fires? Still, this can still be a dying battery, however usually this tells us the starter motor is fine & working as it should.
At this point, it’s important to know that an engine needs the following:
– Air/Compression
– Fuel
– Spark
